What are the Festival dates in 2006?

The festival starts on Friday the 18th of August and lasts until Sunday the 3th of September. The Night of the Arts is on 24th of August.

I represent a company willing to perform at the Helsinki Festival. How can I apply to be part of the next year's programme?

The programming of the Helsinki Festival is based on artistic quality and participation within the Festival is only by invitation. Therefore we have no application forms. We go through all received promotional materials but unfortunately are not able to answer to all programme proposals or inquiries in person. The sent materials will not be returned.

How can I get tickets for the Helsinki Festival -events?

Ticket sales begins in spring 2006 - at the same time when the programme is published.

Tickets are sold by Lippupiste sales offices all over Finland. Telephone bookings from Lippupiste on 0600 900 900 (€ 1.25 per minute + local call charge) daily 7-22.

The tickets must be collected within 10 days of booking and at the latest on the day before the event. Tickets can be collected from any Lippupiste outlet. They can also be sent COD (€ 4.50 per order), or charged to your credit card (€ 7 per order). Tickets from abroad Tel. +358 600 900 900 (normal international fee). Tickets will be charged to credit card (€ 8.50 per order).

Where is the Huvila Festival Tent and how can I get there?

Huvila Festival Tent is located in Hakaniemi, Tokoinranta -shore, next to the Helsinki City Theatre. The easiest way to get there is, first, to take public transport until Hakaniemi, then to walk towards the City Theatre. Huvila will be built near the shore in mid-August.

Is there an age limit to enter Huvila-tent?

The minimum age for admittance is 18 years. The programme of the Family Day is suitable for all, however. On the Family Day a café will be serving refreshments, on all other days there is a restaurant serving food and drinks.
